Back into the Work Force! :O
It's been a crazy week! You wouldn't believe a couple of big architectural firms actually want to hire me to work for them as a consultant. Yep! Me, a pregnant woman who's due in 4 1/2 weeks!!! :O
I was called up last Friday by my ex-project manager that they needed urgent help for a project that's due in two weeks. He's now one of the principals in this big firm. So I went to their Manhattan office on Monday and I was supposed to meet with the person in charge with the project. But I didn't even have to show my portfolio and immediate got my assignment.
Then late Tuesday before the holiday, a company that I sent my resume to back in April called me up and said that they had a position available. I actually declined the offer and told them I was due soon and maybe we could be in touch later this year. But they insisted on having an interview with me and said I could just work for as long as I am capable. And I could work as many hours as I want. :O They must either be very desperate, or I must be very "wanted". Ha! So again today, I went into Manhattan for an interview and it went very well. Before I even got off the bus, I got a call from the interviewer. She told me that the principal in the Long Island office would like to meet with me tomorrow! :D So here I go, back into the work force!!!!
These are good opportunities for me to get my foot into these firms. So after I give birth, I have the option to work as a consultant for them (if I do well now and they still want me later). ;)
